Dequindre Cut

Last Sunday, Jane and I went for a bike ride from Hamtramck to the Dequindre Cut Greenway. The Red Bull Air Races were going on downtown by the river so we caught the tail end of that.

Garden in Late Spring

more photos from the garden

We got a nice Weber 18.5" grill that I recently broke in. It's pretty awesome. I love grilling! We had some portobello mushroom "burgers" with zucchini and red bell peppers. Waiting for that sale at Costco to start so I can get a giant box of Boca Burgers! I should probably mention this awesome fire fork I got at Meijer. It's about 4 feet long and has a glow in the dark handle. Aside from being able to tend to the coals, it also provides a method for toasting your hamburger buns!

Yesterday Walter and I checked out Re:View Gallery in the Willy's Overland Lofts for Mark Dancey's Volandismo show. It's nice. We stopped by the C-Pop closing event. There is a ton of art in there, what a pity. Between the two openings we took a bunch of pictures near the Rosa Parks Transit Center and I'll post those next.

I'm checking out the Dequindre Cut with my friend Jane today so expect photos...

the halfway point.

That's right, 2009 is halfway over.

I had Flickr back in the day before they forced you to use a Yahoo ID to sign in. I can't seem to log in to that account anymore but if you want to see some photos of a single stream recycling facility, Tahquamenon Falls, 12 Mile Beach at Pictured Rocks circa 2004-2005 click here.

I have since created a new Flickr account so that I could add photos to the MetroTimes photostream. I hate having too many options to publish photos online. It's overwhelming. We've got Flickr, MobileMe, Bananalbum, Facebook, SimpleViewer...

A few photos from our Hamtramck garden. It's a collaborative effort between me & Helen Wasacz :) More photos to come as soon as it gets nice out again.

A list of plants I've bought from the Royal Oak Farmer's Market this year:
Basil, Purple Thai Basil, Orange Balsam Thyme, Garlic Chives, Catnip, Apple Mint, Cilantro, Malva, Four o'clocks, Forget-me-nots, Everblooming Lavender, Hummingbird Sage, Toad Lily, Empress of India Nasturium, Black Prince and Green Zebra Heirloom tomatoes, Lysimachia Alexander... wow, that's a lot. Also got some Petunias, Marigolds and a hosta at Home Depot.

YaY for gardens!
